August 22, 2011

On Saturday night, August 20th, Dothan’s Temple Emanu-El was very pleased to host a presentation by Dr. Ken Kanter: “Jews and the Music of Tin Pan Alley,” in cooperation with Troy University’s Dothan Campus Library.

Rabbi Kanter is Director of the Rabbinical School at the Cincinnati campus of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

This very special event’s large audience consisted of members of the congregation as well the Dothan community. After the presentation, the attendees enjoyed a fabulous dessert/coffee in the Temple’s Social Hall.

Following are two photographs: Dr. Kanter and Temple Emanu-El’s Rabbi Lynne Goldsmith, and a photo of Rabbi Kanter during his presentation.
