Jewish Community Services on NPR

April 10, 2009

On Thursday, April 9th, a five-minute story about Dothan’s Jewish community, Temple Emanu-El, Blumberg Family Jewish Community Services (BFJCS), and the Family Relocation Project was broadcast nationally on NPR’s “All Things Considered.”

NPR’s National Correspondent Kathy Lohr visited Dothan twice during March and April, working closely with BFJCS Executive Director Rob Goldsmith to carry-out her background research, tour the area, and interview key local folks.

Ms. Lohr interviewed Larry Blumberg, Rabbi Lynne Goldsmith, Dothan’s Mayor Pat Thomas as well as the first family moved to Dothan via the Family Relocation Project: Matthew, Michelle, Ayden and Samuel Reed.
