Temple Emanu-El’s Annual Deli Day Fundraiser
May 4, 2012
May 3rd was “Deli Day” at Dothan’s Temple Emanu-El.
An army of congregants joined with restauranteur Steve Dubrinsky of Birmingham’s “Max’s Deli” to build and sell 1630 bagged lunches consisting of a quarter-pound kosher corned beef sandwich on rye, spicy deli mustard, bag of chips, a kosher half-sour pickle, and an ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie.
Steve was on-site and really enjoyed being in the Temple kitchen with 30 volunteers cutting pickles and making sandwiches – yikes, beginning at 6:30 am !
Deli Day was a fabulous fundraising success for the Temple plus we were honored to donate, pack-up, and deliver 300 lunches to area
non-profits that help feed our neighbors in-need.
We are truly amazed by the greater Dothan community’s support of the event and look forward to an even bigger and better Deli Day 2013.
